First bath & decorating Christmas cookies

It has been a great week having everyone home! Isaac has been a great baby and we are all enjoying him. He got his first bath and wasn't too excited about that.
Brodie got to decorate Christmas cookies this week and was so excited that he made all of the cookies. Now if only Abel didn't have to go back to work.

Time to go home!

Yeah - time to go home! Isaac got to go home on December 11th and Brodie was so excited to meet him! He is a very good big brother and gives Isaac a lot of love! We are all doing good, but a little tired and maybe a little crabby :).

Isaac Sabyn Luksan

Issac was born on his Daddy's birthday, December 10, 2009. He weighed 6 pounds 13 ounces and was 20 inches long. We are loving this new addition to our family!

Halloween!

We had a fun halloween. Brodie dressed up as buzz lightyear from Toy Story. We went to the mall the night before halloween and went trick or treating at each store. There were a ton of kids there, but it was a fun, warm, safe place to get candy. We went to a few houses next door the following night. Brodie wasn't sure what to think until he figured out that he got candy. Of course then, he loved it!
He got a package of candy from Grandpa and Grandma and figured out that he loves suckers!

Making cinnamon rolls

Brodie and I had fun making cinnamon rolls today. I usually get blamed for getting flour all over the house, but I am hoping I can start blaming it on Brodie.

Thomas

Brodie is Thomas the train crazy. Two weeks ago, I didn't know the theme song nor any of the characters from Thomas. Now I can't get the theme song out of my head and am constantly telling Brodie which train he is holding. We go to Barnes and Noble every chance we get to play with the train set. I am just glad he hasn't figured out that we could buy stuff there also.

Words of Wisdom

Brodie received some words of wisdom this past week.

He was jumping on the bed as I was folding clothes and Abel was putting clothes away in another room. I had just said, "no jumping on the bed" when I hear Brodie start crying and he is laying on the bed holding his head. I say, "see that's why we don't jump on the bed." Then he looks up and I feel a little bad as I see the knot beginning to form. He didn't cry for very long, but he does have a nice shiner now. It looks like he got punched in the eye. I'm not sure if I want to get that picture.

This morning, Abel and Brodie were eating pancakes in the dining room. I was just bringing in the last of the pancakes as I see Abel wiping Brodie's hands and saying, (partially to himself and partially to Brodie) "there is no reason to pet a pancake." Apparently Brodie had been saying 'nice' while petting his breakfast food. I just can't stop laughing thinking about this. That is just not a phrase you expect to say during your lifetime.

I'm sure Brodie will always remember these wise words.

We participated in the light the night walk last weekend and had a good time. Brodie liked the balloons that lit up. It was a nice night out and there were a lot of people there. We would have rather been in Lincoln, but were happy we found a walk close to home. If only I wouldn't have forgotten the camera!

Apple Orchard

We went to an apple orchard with Brodie's daycare this week. Brodie had fun running wild and also picking apples. He keeps talking about picking apples. Of course, he will not eat any of those apples he picked. Mom and Dad are enjoying the apples.

Tiger Mania

We got a tiger present from Brodie's Aunt Jodi, Uncle Rob, Emma, and Ellie 2 years ago and I wasn't sure what Brodie would think of it. Well, he loved it and he still climbs on it, tackles it, and uses it for a head rest all of the time. This is what started his obsession with tigers. What a great idea for a present!

We had another fun weekend. Shelburne farms had a harvest festival on Saturday which was very kid friendly! Brodie got to climb on tractors, pet farm animals, play with play dough, and there was also live children's music.
Our church had an outdoor service on Sunday with family friendly activities after the service. Brodie loved the jump pit. He does need to learn that he can't just tackle other kids. He wrestles with Daddy and wrestles with the older kids at daycare, so he thinks that everyone likes to be tackled. There was one boy in the jump pit that was a little afraid of Brodie after he tackled him :)

Balloon Rally

We had a great time at the Vermont balloon rally this weekend. Brodie loved seeing the hot air balloons inflate and lift off. There was also an antique carousel that was fun.
