Thomas the Train

We surprised Brodie with a trip to New York to see 'Thomas the Train'. We rode on a car, a boat (ferry), and a train. It was a very long day, but we had a wonderful time!

Isaac or Brodie?

Here are a couple of pictures of Isaac and Brodie at about the same age (Isaac is a couple of weeks older). Here are also some more pictures of Brodie playing in the pool this afternoon. Abel got to come home early from work, so we were very excited! Only one more 30 hour work day this month!

Summer fun!

It is a hot day today in Burlington, so we decided to bust out the pool, or the water hole as Brodie likes to call it. I couldn't remember where I put it for the winter, but Brodie remembered exactly where it was. Brodie had a blast playing in the water! The video is from his first steps into the pool!

Baby chicks

We had a lot of fun outside this weekend. One of our neighbors is a preschool teacher and had three baby chicks from the school. He brought them out so Brodie could see them. They were sooo cute! We are getting very excited for Aunt Jodi, Uncle Rob, Emma, and Ellie to come visit soon!

Isaac's first bites of food

We had a great Saturday. Abel has Saturday and Sunday off this weekend so life is good. We went to Shelburne farm today and we thought that Brodie would be excited to see the animals and feed a baby lamb, but he was actually most excited to ride on the tractor to and from the parking lot. We also gave Isaac his first bites of cereal tonight. He wasn't sure what to think at first, but then actually seemed to like it. He would grab my hand to bring the spoon to his mouth!

Outside fun!

This is what happens when I send Brodie and Daddy outside to play while Isaac is sleeping :) It is difficult to see in the picture, but he has road rash all along the right side of his face. The picture really does not do it justice. It is quite impressive in person. Of course, they are still playing outside as I type, so it must not hurt too much.

Beautiful Sunday!

It was a beautiful day here today! We had to get up a little early to take Daddy to work (5:30), and then had a fun filled day. We went to church, to the park, and relaxed here with some popcorn this evening. Brodie had a lot of fun at the park and Isaac was just so relaxed and happy in the stroller. He is becoming such a good sleeper also. I just give him a pacifier and a small blanket and he rolls over and goes to sleep (even at the park). I'm sure I just jinxed myself, but I feel very blessed that Isaac is such a happy baby right now. We are so blessed with two beautiful, happy boys!

Kids Day in Burlington

It was Kids Day in Burlington yesterday and there were a lot of fun activities! We got to ride on a train to Shelburne and back. Brodie loved it. He keeps saying he wants to ride the train again. Isaac had a good time also! I've had a good time going through Brodie's old clothes for Isaac. It seems like last week Brodie was wearing these clothes.

Mother's Day weekend!

We are having a pretty low key weekend. Abel had to work today and it was rainy and cool most of the day. Brodie and I tried to make oatmeal cookies this morning, but after starting the cookies, I realized I was out of eggs - oops. Tomorrow we have a birthday party for one of Brodie's friends from daycare. Abel won't get home until close to noon (he's been at work since before 6 am this morning), so we will be very excited to see him tomorrow (of course he will probably not sleep at all and will be very tired). We really miss our mothers and grandmothers this weekend! We are very blessed to have such wonderful mother's/grandmother's in our lives! Thanks for all that you have done and continue to do! WE LOVE YOU MOM and GRANDMA!

Snow/Sun

We had 24 hours of snow here this week. There was actually a little accumulation. Two days later, it was 80 degrees! We had fun making May Day baskets and giving them away at daycare. We went for a long walk to the park today. Brodie had only two speeds on the way to the park - running full speed (unfortunately his mother can't keep up by walking anymore) and a complete stop as he was examining an ant hill, a stick , or a rock. On the way back from the park, he had a nice leisurely pace or wanted to be on Daddy's shoulders. Brodie and Isaac were worn out after a lot of fun this week and slept well!
