Tired?

We went to the outdoor concert again this week and Brodie got his face painted. He wanted to be spider-man. There is also a picture here of Brodie lining up all of his cars which we think is funny because Grandpa Luksan tried to do that this winter and Brodie did not want anything to do with the cars being organized. If you notice there are paper shreds on the floor also. Brodie thought it was a good idea to put paper from the paper shredder in his dump truck and repeatedly dump it out.
We have been slowly moving back the time I feed Isaac at night and so far he has done awesome! He goes over 7 hours now sleeping without being fed! It has been a long time since I have slept 7 hours in a row. Why do I still feel tired? :)

Kitchen helper

One of the nurses from work invited us to swim at her house tomorrow. So, we made some cupcakes to take to her house. Of course, we made some blue and green ones. Well...after I finished putting the cupcakes in the oven, I looked over at my little helper and saw Brodie's entire face in the bowl the blue dough had been in. So then I gave him a spoon to lick, but I'm not sure if the outcome was any better :).

Is it August yet?

We are getting so excited to come back to Nebraska! Brodie asks everyday if we are going on "two airplanes today." He is excited to go to a zoo. For some reason he is very excited to see a snake. His mother is not so excited to see a snake. I am a little disappointed that we are going to miss the Ribfest by one weekend, but I am sure we will find plenty of other stuff to do. :)
We had a good week. There is free live music at one of the malls once weekly during the summer and we went for the first time this week. We had a lot of fun dancing and enjoying the music outside on a beautiful evening!
Abel starts cardiac surgery next week, so he will be very busy and we will all be ready for a vacation in a few weeks!

Spray bottles

We bought some spray bottles to play with this week. Brodie had a blast spraying us, Isaac, bugs, flowers, and just about anything else he could find. He keeps saying that he is going to spray Grandma and Grandpa :). So, Grandma and Grandpa better watch out the next time Brodie sees you.

Last night Brodie was playing with my work bag and acting like he was going to work. I am glad that Abel had me look in the bag before leaving for work today because Brodie had taken my stethoscope out and replaced it with a wide variety of toys. I would have had a nice surprise at work.

Hot Summer!

It has been hot here and we are so glad we have a window air conditioner! Last week we went to the pool and Brodie and Isaac had a blast! It is a walk out pool, so Brodie really liked being able to walk and splash in the pool.
We went on a different route on our nightly walk tonight and walked on the bike path next to the road. Brodie is really into street lights now, so we had to stop walking every time the light turned red. It took us a long time to walk the few blocks along the street :).
On a personal note. I started eating dairy products last week and Isaac has been doing great. It was a little questionable at first because Isaac got a cold shortly after I introduced dairy into my diet and he was cranky and not sleeping well. But, now that his cold is gone, he is happy and sleeping well!! So....we are having chicken and biscuits tomorrow (my favorite - even though it would be better if Mom made it) and there is a Valentino's pizza in the freezer with my name on it for later in the week!

4th of July

We had a good three day weekend. Abel had to work Saturday and was on call today, but at least it was sunny and warm, so we got to play outside. We went to a minor league baseball game yesterday. Brodie really liked it, so I think we may try to go to a few other games. There was a water balloon tossing contest between innings that Brodie thought looked fun. So, we bought some balloons today and filled them with water. We may have to buy smaller balloons next time :)

We wish we could have been in Omaha for the baseball game and fireworks with the Luksans this weekend! Happy Birthday Jade and Mackenzie! We hope you had a wonderful weekend with family to celebrate your birthdays!
