Brodie was playing with a toy hammers this morning and kept telling me he wanted to fix my witch. I finally remembered that my decorative witch for Halloween had fallen and cracked a few weeks ago. Brodie had been very concerned about it. Apparently when he found the hammer today, he thought he could fix it. Needless to say, I did not let him "fix" it :)

Happy Thanksgiving!
Good morning! We are enjoying Thanksgiving morning. We are watching the "Grinch" movie in our pajamas. We are looking forward to a relaxing day today and football, Christmas decorations, and baking later in the weekend!
I am so thankful for my amazing husband, who I love more and more daily, my wonderful sons who make me smile everyday, a supportive extended family who I miss each day, a church that encourages me to include my Savior in every aspect of my life, mine and my loved one's good health, Acorn Alley where my children are not only safe and cared for, but cherished and loved, a job I enjoy, and some special visitors coming soon! Thank-you Lord for all of these blessings and more! You truly are an awesome God!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
We went to the mall yesterday for a parade of Santa and Mrs Claus coming to the mall. I think Isaac enjoyed the band and Santa on a train more than Brodie did. Brodie had more fun playing bingo and watching the puppet version of "A Christmas Carol." Isaac got bored with the puppet show and preferred to play with trains.
Isaac is really trying to talk more and more all of the time. Yesterday I said, "lets go, go, go" and then Isaac says, "go, go, go" or something like that :).
Here is a video of Brodie getting ready to read a book. He is imitating "circle time" at daycare. They sing songs everyday before they read a book.

Polar Express
We entered a lottery to try and get tickets for the Polar Express (there are too many people that want tickets, so they enter everyone into a lottery and draw the winners) and unfortunately, for the second year in a row, we did not get tickets. Maybe next year I will volunteer to hand out hot chocolate at one of the events and then we are guaranteed tickets. (The Polar Express is based off of the movie. The kids all wear pajamas and go on a train ride. They get hot chocolate and see Santa)
I have today off because daycare is closed for Veteran's Day. I should try and get some stuff done around the house, but it would be much more fun to do something exciting with the boys.
I am starting to get excited for Christmas, but will try to hold off putting up decorations until after Thanksgiving :). Is it too early to start playing Christmas music?
It's so fun to watch Isaac learn how to play with an older brother around. He loves to push toy cars all over the house. He tries to push the trains on the train tracks also. He wants to be just like his big brother. Brodie loves to have Isaac chase him all over the house. They can make circles in the house for long periods of time. I just wish Isaac would eat more and put on a few pounds. I think he doesn't have time to eat. He just wants to go, go, go. I don't think he is going to weight 20 pounds by the time he is a year old. I didn't ever think that I would have a child that wouldn't weigh enough to have their car seat face forward by one year of age. By our scale, he actually lost nearly a pound over the last 2 weeks. I am hoping that is because he has been sick. I probably just need to stop weighing him and let his doctor worry about him :).

Ellie's song
We were listening to music today and Brodie asked why they were singing about Ellie. It was the B-I-B-L-E song and every time they spelled Bible, he thought they were singing about Ellie. So that song is now referred to as 'Ellie's song' in our house :).
Brodie thinks it is very funny to make his eyes cross now, so it is impossible to get a picture of him without being cross-eyed. Hopefully this stage will not last long.
I need to become much sneakier about hiding Christmas presents. I only have one present bought for Christmas and of course Brodie has already found it.

It's Wednesday!
I love my days off with the boys. Today we learned a few things. We learned that our fish is faster than Isaac's hands (thank-goodness), Isaac and Brodie both love cinnamon rolls (I have been trying different ideas out on the family to give out for Christmas presents) (I am making Irish cream liquor next - the boys better not be trying that :). We also learned it is definitely getting cold out, it is nearly impossible to get both boys to smile and look at the camera at the same, and the boys love to dance! It was a fun filled day!
