Lowes

I think one of our new favorite store is Lowes! Brodie is really into tools and fixing things right now. He loves to go make stuff on Saturdays at Lowes. Brodie pretends like he is Daddy and fixes everything at home. Isaac loves tractors now and enjoys "driving" the lawn mowers at Lowes. If only I had a space for a garden, I would love to go crazy in the garden center at Lowes.....someday!

Isaac has a fever, so we are not going to far from home today. I wish it would warm up just a little here. I would like to play outside. I think it is supposed to hit the 40's later in the week. I hope so!

Happy Sunday.

It starts early :)

This morning at breakfast, I was telling Brodie what we were going to do for the day. I said we were going to make some bread, do some laundry, go to Lowes and make something, ect. Brodie says to me, "Why don't you stay here and cook and Daddy and I will go to Lowes and make something." He's lucky he said I could also go to Lowes when I told him I like watching him make toys :)
Just now Brodie said, "my tummy hurts." I said, "remember that when your tummy hurts, it is probably telling you something. It is probably telling you that you need to poop" and Brodie says "or you need to potty....or you need to watch tv." Nice try - why don't you go poop. :)

I see the sun!

It has been sunny for the last 1 1/2 days and Abel has the afternoon off! The boys are in a good mood. Life is good! Brodie thought it was fun to avoid the camera, so most of the pictures are of Isaac today. I've also attached a picture I recently got from Mom of my grandfather. I remember bowling with Grandpa when I was little. I specifically remember him having the bowling center announce overhead the first time I bowled 100. Good times and good memories! My grandfather is the one on the right in the back row.

Well, I'd better get that Shepard's pie cooking (first time I will try to make one) so we can go play outside!

Isn't it time to stop shoveling snow?

It feels like we've been shoveling snow all winter long. Now, Isaac wants to carry the shovel everywhere we go. We walked to the doctor's office today for his 15 month well child check and he had to take the shovel with us. Thank goodness they were understanding!

Preschool

Brodie had his first day of preschool at Shelburne Farms today. He had a ton of fun! We made sure to tell him to listen to his teachers and to use the restroom if he needed to. After school today, he told me that he listened to the teachers and used the restroom, but picked his nose and wiped it on the floor. He said no one saw him do it. Apparently, Abel and I had to tell him not to pick his nose.
It was a nice sunny today which makes me smile!

Spring forward

Isaac likes to get out his computer when we work on our computer.

This is how our parking lot was cleared after the last snow storm. Isaac gets very excited when he sees a tractor!

Doesn't spring forward mean spring is supposed to be coming?

Picnic in the snow

Ready for the picnic with our "picnic basket" Be sure to notice the Mardi Gras beads :)

Brodie wanted to take a picture also. I now think I see where he gets his cheesy smile.

Well maybe the picnic wasn't in the snow, but we did have a picnic with over 2 feet of snow outside. Brodie asked if we could have a picnic this morning, so we decided to have a picnic inside. I even bought chips and some popsicles. I must really be ready for winter to be over :).

Lets enjoy some of that snow!

Helping Mom shovel the snow.

The snow was high enough, Brodie could climb up and slide down the "hill"

Now it's Isaac's turn to shovel.

It has been the fourth-snowiest winter on record in Burlington with 121 inches of snow!

Snow day fun!

Blanket fort

Still snowing.....

That is our grill somewhere under the snow.

Isaac has to do everything Brodie does!

Snow day for Mommy and boys!

Isaac saying "eat." As Abel says, he eats all day long.

Getting ready for the hair cut.

Isaac playing while Brodie is getting his hair cut.

Brodie fixing something.

Without the pacifier

With the pacifier or "wa wa" as he calls it

Daycare is closed, so no working for me today! We got 23 inches of snow and it is still coming down. It is supposed to stop by 1:00, but I am not convinced.

Here are some recent pictures. Brodie has really been into using tools lately. He has been carrying around Daddy's pliers non stop and fixing everything. Of course, his brother thinks he needs the pliers also. We finally gave Brodie a hair cut last night. He holds fairly still for being 3 years old.
Here is some photo evidence of Isaac's attachment to his pacifier. You can see how much happier he is with the pacifier. Yikes, his parents are in trouble!

Is winter over?

It seems like we have had a revolving virus in our house and never ending snow. We are ready for spring. Doesn't spring practice start soon? We are all feeling better for now. Hopefully we can have a little fun this weekend before Abel starts ICU next week!
Brodie starts preschool at Shelburne farm next week. He goes once weekly for 6 weeks. He is excited and so am I. Hopefully he likes it. Brodie is ready for baseball games also. He keeps talking about going to baseball games and playing baseball.
Isaac continues to try to do everything Brodie does. He likes to play with cars, trains, balls, and loves to run and play "get you". He seemed to get really attached to his pacifier with this last illness. He keeps sucking on his fingers when we take the pacifier away and we are trying to avoid having a thumb/finger sucker. I am hoping that will stop after his teeth are in. He doesn't talk as much with his pacifier in, but continues to say more and more. He will say please if it is something he really wants. He recently started saying up, cookie, drink, milk, and says roar when asked what a dinosaur says.
We can't wait for some of that 70 degree weather the midwest had. We probably won't hit the 70's until July :)
The picture is from when both boys were not feeling well. They both sat and watched TV for 20-30 minutes which told their mother that they were not feeling well because I have never seen that happen. Luckily today they are both running around again!
