Happy Halloween!

It has been a busy Halloween already and it is not even dusk yet.  Brodie had a Halloween party at school and Isaac had a Halloween party at the daycare at the YMCA.  I really am ready to throw out all of the candy because I am tired of the boys constantly asking for candy, but I suppose I better wait until Halloween is over :)  The weather has been beautiful and we have been taking advantage of these warm fall days!

Pumpkin cookies filled with m &m's.  Last night I was thinking I was crazy for coming up with this idea for the party, but it all turned out OK.

Pumpkin pie play dough with a pumpkin cookie cutter for Isaac's class (I made 20 and I repeat my above statements about my feelings last night :)

Are you ready for some football?

We've had a fun week.  We played in the snow, played inside, and went to a play-off highschool football game.

The boys had a lot of fun making book tracks for their cars/trucks/tractors

Brodie wanted to wear a 'handsome shirt," but first came out with his brother's shirt on :)

Family Fun Day!

We went to a local family fun day event this weekend and the boys had a ton of fun (and got a ton of candy).  Brodie had fun going down a big inflatable slide, playing basketball in an inflatable court, and playing in a jump house.

Are we done yet?

Well Isaac is really trying to hang onto this GI bug.  I thought he was back to normal today.  He had not vomited in 3 days and was acting back to normal.  He was happy, playing, and eating/drinking well.  I gave him some milk before nap (I'm thinking this was a mistake).  He woke up from nap crying with a loose stool.  His tummy was hard and round and then he threw up.  His tummy is better now after passing some gas.  He is hungry again and has kept down some cereal bars, so hopefully he is on the mend again.  Poor guy - I just want him to feel better.

I downloaded some photos from Abel's phone, so some of these are out of order.  We got to see some firetrucks last week at story time at the library.  The boys even got to spray some water from the fire hose.

Isaac has wanted Swedish pancakes for every meal for the last 3 days

Watching the harvesting of crops helped to make him feel better

Not sure when this was taken, but found it on Abel's phone

Oh what a weekend!

Well, we were supposed to go to a GALA for Abel's work on Friday.  We got a babysitter, I bought new dress shoes, and we were all set....until Isaac woke up early Friday morning vomiting!  Instead of going out we stayed in and cleaned up vomit :).  Isaac definitely kept us on our toes.  I threw him in the bath tub after one very loose stool.  I came out of his room with pants for him to put on and found him in the living room with the puke bucket on his head (apparently I hadn't rinsed it, in the middle of the night, as well as I thought).  He also threw up in the new truck (we thought he was done with the vomiting, but apparently not).  Today was almost his worst morning.  He didn't vomit today, but he wasn't very happy this morning, didn't want to eat, drink, or pee.  He is a little better this afternoon, so hopefully tomorrow will be better.

So far Abel and Brodie have only felt ill when witnessing vomiting or cleaning it up and I only had a minor episode.  So over all it really wasn't such a bad weekend and I'm sure we'll laugh at it later on.

Warm Fall Day

It was beautiful out yesterday, so Brodie and I got some crafts done outside while Isaac was taking a nap.  We made a ghost out of cheese cloth and starch.  We also painted over the sign that still said the previous owners name on our driveway.

Waiting on the ghost to dry

Getting the boys to both look and smile is nearly impossible :)

Snow and a new truck!

We got a couple days worth of snow here and it was very pretty.  It was a little sloppy wet though and it has mostly melted.  Hopefully this is a sign of a lot of precipitation to come this winter!
Well all the talk about a new truck when we were back home must have settled in Abel's head, because he came home with a brand new red truck this weekend!  We all love it and are looking forward to getting a lot of use out of it in the years to come!  Brodie decided a red truck was OK as long as it was a Husker red truck.  As for the Huskers this weekend, well we won't talk about that :)

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

And here is the truck.

It was snowing in the morning and sunny in the afternoon

The boys love the truck

and I think Daddy likes it too :)

Isaac

I couldn't get this to upload last night.  Here is Isaac proudly telling you how to spell is name.  Brodie keeps trying to tell him how to spell all of our names :) - Yes that is our luggage in the background.  This video occurred shortly after we returned home from our last trip.

It's so nice living closer to family!

We went back to Eastern Nebraska this last weekend and got to see both sets of grandparents and some aunts/uncles/cousins!  We had a fantastic time!  We went on the 'Light the Night' walk and it was so much better than in Vermont (maybe because we were with family :)  We played a lot, watched Emma's soccer game, ate lunch with Emma & Ellie at school and took Grandma out to lunch.  We had a Halloween party with ghost stories, dry ice, and lots of candy.  We also got to watch a Husker win with family!  Who could ask for more (well, maybe a few more aunts/uncles/cousins would have been nice, but overall it was a great weekend)
