Road trip to Colorado!

Abel got Friday off at the last minute, so we headed to Colorado for a quick, fun weekend away from home.  We found a hotel that had a pool with a slide.  It also had an awesome kid's suite.  The boys got their own 'room' in our suite which had bunk beds, bean bags, and even a tv.  We had a great time!  We have had a lot of fun swimming since Brodie has been taking swimming lessons!

Unfortunately, poor Brodie got sick on the way home today and threw up in the truck.  Hopefully he is feeling better tomorrow!

On a more positive note, waiting to potty train Isaac had some advantages!  When Isaac went for his 3 year well child check, the doctor told him he had to stop wearing diapers and that is what he has done.  He had a few accidents, but not very many.  He made it to Colorado and back without any trouble!  He actually needs to stop to pee less often than his brother.

It was warm outside, so we took Simba to the park.  Brodie carried him all over the park equipment and Simba had fun going down the slide with him. 

New Year, swimming lessons, and a new puppy!

We've had quite a 2013 so far.  We had a rockin party on New Years Eve!

Just a little confetti 

Brodie has been taking swimming lessons this week at the YMCA.  He is doing great.  At the beginning of the first day, he didn't want to put his head under and by the end he was repeatedly putting it under.  He is swimming by himself with a noodle and does cannon balls into the pool (with a life jacket on).  He loves it.  I just need to remember to bring my camera now that he is getting more confident.

AND...we got a new puppy yesterday.  We've been talking about getting a puppy since we moved here.  We've visited the humane society a few times, but really thought we would wait until the spring to get one.  Well yesterday, we saw a puppy we just could not resist and ended up with Simba.  He is a great puppy so far and so good with the boys.  He is only 8 weeks old and we hear that your angel puppies go through the terrible 2's at around 12 weeks....so we will see.

Christmas Day!

Christmas was a busy, crazy, fun-filled celebration!  We started the day with presents from Santa...

and then the Hains came over to open presents...

 We then traveled to Pawnee for more Christmas celebrations.  It was so great to see family we haven't seen in way too long!  I only wish I would have took more pictures :(
