Crazy Day!

It has been a crazy, wild day.  I woke the boys up from their nap when the clouds started looking a little scary outside.

It's hard to see here, but there was a green color in the middle of the clouds

Crazy as it seems, it was completely calm here; the only thing moving was the white clouds spinning

Thank-you Lord, there wasn't a tornado here, but there was one on the ground a few miles from here.  We've had some rain, hail, and lots of wind.    Somehow, it calmed down enough to play a t-ball game.  It was Brodie's first game and he had a blast.  It started pouring rain during the game, which wasn't so fun for Mom and Isaac, but Brodie didn't seem to mind.  The game was finally called due to lightening.

Ready to bat

Isaac had fun climbing in the stands and running around
Brodie's debut t-ball at bat:

Here is his first fielding experience.  He was so focused on trying to throw the ball the way the coach showed him, that I moved the camera before he threw :).  And although I didn't get it on film, he did throw out the base runner (which if you have witnessed a t-ball game, does not happen very often)  Not too bad for having only 2 practices and no practice with Mom/Dad yet.

Lets hope it is a calm night and day tomorrow !

Finished with preschool

Brodie had his graduation from preschool tonight.  Mom didn't get too sad yet, but just give me a few months.

3 buddies that will go to kindergarten together next year (and Isaac who thinks he's part of the gang)

Fun before graduation starts

We had a great evening!

Pests!

We are getting to experience western Nebraska pests this spring.  Isaac is terrified of bugs and it is difficult to tell him that the bugs won't hurt him when we have fire ant hills all over!  I don't know if the previous owners got rid of them before we moved in last summer or they are just worse this year, but we keep finding more huge hills!  I got bit by one last year, but it was by the road and I thought it was a fluke.  Heh, guess I was wrong.  The bad thing is, most ant killers at the stores don't do anything to the fire ants.  So much for telling Isaac that ants are nice.

We somehow have pigeons hanging around the house also.  We didn't have any last year, but this spring we have a few trying to hang out around the house.  Good thing we do not live in Scottsbluff, because apparently there is a law against shooting them in city limits.

We also have this cute little bird that keeps us 'company.'  As soon as the sun comes up, he starts pecking our bedroom windows.  I'm not sure what he is doing, but we no longer need to set an alarm, because we are awake as soon as the sun starts coming up.  I'm not sure what we are going to do about this little guy yet.

Brodie's last day of preschool

It was Brodie's last day of preschool.  It was probably a good thing that we were running late this morning, trying to make treats, otherwise I may have gotten a little emotional.   We made jello beach cups and the boys loved decorating them.

Yummy!
Brodie lost another tooth last night.  The tooth fairly barely made it before Brodie woke up for his big day today.

He may have been a little overly anxious to get it out - it was a little more bloody this time

Mother's Day!

What a beautiful day!   We went to church and then out to brunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant  (the one with the bars on the window :).  Then we came home and got the garden ready for the seeds to go in tomorrow (it is supposed to be 91 degrees).  My guys worked very hard outside and I am so thankful and love them so much!!  Abel grilled steaks for dinner and it was delicious!!  I had a great day!  I only wish we would have seen our Mom's!  We miss and love you so, so much!

Lost tooth

Brodie was so excited to lose his first tooth this week.  He came running out of his room during nap time with his tooth in his fingers.  He woke up early the next morning to make sure the tooth fairy came.

Brodie's preschool class went on a field trip to a horse barn this week and they had a blast!

Isaac loved the horses, but wasn't sure he wanted to ride on one

May Day Fun, a loose tooth, and sunny days!

We've had a fun week!  The boys delivered their May Day baskets and got a May Day basket in the mail.

Ready to deliver May Day baskets!

Abel and I went out to dinner with friends and when we came home, Brodie was so excited to inform us that he has a loose tooth!

We went on a hike again today and Brodie and I got to go on the long haul today.  I think Mom gets a little more nervous with heights than Dad.

We finally had a flower bloom!
