More fun on the slopes!

Brodie didn't have school Friday, so we headed to the slopes again for some more fun in the snow.  Isaac has been wanting to  jump while snowboarding ever since he watched slopestyle in the Olympics.  He had an awesome instructor that helped him learn to jump (Isaac does admit that the jump is really small, but hey we're all happy with any jump on a snowboard).

It was a beautiful day!  Abel and I had a great day of skiing!

Here comes Abel.  It was nice having a lot of the mountain to ourselves!

Waiting for Brodie's group to come down the mountain.

Brodie was in a group in ski school that didn't like to go as fast as him.  I'm not sure he had as much fun as the rest of us.  He did have fun during his free time when he tried skiing backwards.

There's Brodie in the back.  His instructor kept trying to slow him down
Brodie is towards the top skiing backwards

We were planning on skiing with the boys on the second day, but decided to head back early after we heard the snow forecast.  We hit some snow...
but we were so glad we came back when we did when we heard the interstate was closed due to accidents the following day.

Fun in the mountains!

We had a great weekend in Colorado!  We may never go skiing on President's day weekend again (it took us 11 hour to drive what should have taken less than 5 hours), but we ended up having a great time!  We met some of Abel's college friends and we all had a great time!  Both boys tried snowboarding the first day.  Isaac loved it!  Brodie liked it, but he wanted to ski the second day.

Isaac was so excited to snowboard  He asked if he would learn to jump during his first lesson (he has been watching the Olympics)

Isaac having fun!

Now, it's Brodie's turn:

Isaac obviously did not eat lunch well the first day.  He was a little crazy when we picked him up :).  He saw some kids getting their picture taken and decided he wanted his picture taken in the exact same spot.  As you can see by the following picture, we were not getting the picture taken exactly right.  He insisted he wasn't hungry, but somehow turned back into our happy guy once he ate some food.

We must be getting the picture right now

Brodie had fun skiing with the big kids the second day!
Brodie's in the red

Here's him skiing with his ski buddy, Sara (Abel's friend who was helping him ski).

Our trip back home was much quicker!  We had a great weekend!!

Valentine's Day

Both boys had fun at their Valentine's parties at school.  They both picked out and helped make their valentine's.

Here's Isaac's.  It says, "Enjoy a frozen or hot chocolate" (in reference to the "Frozen" movie)

Here is Isaac "smiling" with his valentine
Of course, I didn't realize until the morning of Isaac's party that I was out of small marshmallows to put in with the mix for the hot chocolate.  So I cut out heart shapes from large marshmallows.  I was not liking the marshmallows very much by the time I was done :)

Here's Brodies' valentine.  It says, "Do you want to build a snowman?" A line in "Frozen" and it has the parts (marshmallows, chocolate chips, ect) to build a snowman

I made goldfish in heart shapes for Isaac's class party.

It was a busy fun day! We left to go skiing after we picked Brodie up from school.  Little did we know it would be a very long drive to Copper Mountain, but we'll leave that story for another post.

Almost Valentine's Day

We are getting ready for Valentine's Day.  I'm thinking Mommy has plans to do too much, but I guess that is par for the course.

Poor Isaac has been trying all kinds of hot chocolate as I try to figure out the best kind to give for his valentines.

He liked almost everyone I have tried, so I know it is really bad if he doesn't like it.  I better hurry up and decide on a recipe!

We tried making homemade marshmallows to go with our valentine's, but the boys didn't like them, so that idea was discarded.  At least we had fun making them.

Brodie has been working hard on putting together his valentines:

Apparently he has been working hard on his selfies also:

We've been working out so we can work off all that valentine candy also :)

What a great day!

We've had a wonderful day!!  We were so extremely honored to be godparents for Everett this morning.  Everett was so happy to be in church and was just begging to get in the holy water when it was being poured out.  Everett was baptized by his grandfather on his grandfather's birthday.

\

I kept thinking Everett was going to crawl to me for the first time

he was oh so close

We finally went out sledding today also!  We had a great time, but it was a little chilly.

Here comes Brodie..

This wasn't his favorite run.  He had just a little snow down his coat.

We met a friend there with a sled that everyone could fit on!

Isaac's turn for snow in the face

Broncos Mania

We may have jumped on the Broncos bandwagon.  There has been a lot of Bronco excitement in the house this weekend.  To our credit, it is really easy to cheer for Denver when Manning keeps yelling, Omaha, Omaha!  Not to mention that even though we live in Nebraska, we live much closer to Denver than to Omaha.  This city has also been taken over by Broncos fans.  You can't go anywhere without seen the majority of people in Denver clothes. They must keep talking about the Super Bowl at school also because Brodie has been coming home talking about the game and the Broncos all week.

Racing to watch the game

Next years Broncos - Chiefs game may be interesting in our house :)

Simba's even ready for the game

Ready for the game!

It was beautiful when we woke up this morning.  Too bad it has to be so cold to get the ice on the trees.

The tumble weeds were almost pretty with the ice....well maybe not
