St. Patrick's Day Fun!

We've had a great St. Patrick's Day!  Brodie had to make a leprechaun trap for school and he and Abel had fun making it!

Here's the final product.  The door shuts when the leprechaun grabs the gold

Both boys made leprechaun traps for home also.  Brodie decided he wanted a sticky floor in this trap to hold the leprechaun in place.

Almost ready

Set and ready to go!  Brodie is imagining all the gold he is going to get
The St. Patty's mobile is hanging in the doorway to entice the leprechaun

Here's some pretty white flowers on the look out for the leprechaun

Now it's time to go to bed and see what happens....

No leprechaun, but he did leave some stuff behind

The leprechaun lost his shoe on the sticky tape!

Eating green waffles and drinking green milk.  Notice the flowers turned green

The boys were very excited to see green water come out of their bathroom faucets.  The toilet water was green also with some green footprints left on the toilet seat.  The boys had some green in their hair also.  What an ornery leprechaun.

Family Fun!

Grandpa and Grandma Buman came to visit this weekend and we had oh so much fun!  They spent the morning with Isaac on Friday and then ate lunch with Brodie at school.  It was a nice afternoon, so after watching the Huskers lose, we went outside and played at the park.  Saturday we made St. Patrick's Day mobiles at Home Depot and then we went to the boys basketball games.

We may have to use those mobile's to lure the leprechaun into a trap.

There was a little wrestling going on.

We had so much fun, but it went by too fast!  Thanks for coming to see us Grandpa and Grandma!

Lets try the cupcakes again!

It was our turn for treats at school again.  I let Brodie talk me into cupcakes with rings on them.  But I didn't give in and buy the Walmart ones.  I bought plastic St. Patty's rings and made the cupcakes myself.  Brodie decorated them and apparently the rings made all the difference because he was very happy with the results this time.

Isaac trying out the cupcakes

I think Simba wants a bite also

We've started seeing calves behind our house.  They are so cute.  Hopefully they stay warm in this snow!
Can you see the little ones out there?

Now we need to start working on our leprechaun traps!  It's almost St. Patty's Day!

Ahh...warmer weather!

It was oh so nice this weekend!  We've greatly appreciated all the snow we've gotten recently, but it was so nice to see a little sun and some grass (even though it is brown).  We went to the park today and had a blast!

Fun on the slide

Brodie going down on his stomach

Now it's Isaac's turn to go down on his stomach

We had a great time!

We went to the district boys basketball game.  The game was between Scottsbluff and Gering, so the gym was packed (it was at the local community college).  We couldn't find a place to sit, but we still had a great time!

Brodie kept telling me that his bangs were too long.  I kept telling him we would cut his hair.  Well, I thought that was the conversation we had earlier in the week.....   and then Brodie comes out of the bathroom with a huge smile on his face and some scissors in his hands.  He was so proud of his new haircut.  I said, "you cut your hair?"  He says, "I told you I was going to do it."  Apparently I wasn't listening very closely :)

It actually doesn't look too bad.  You can see some of the evidence in the background

When it's cold, we play lots of games and read lots of books!
Our game of the week has been war.

Isaac didn't get a haircut this week.  He loves the mohawk right now

We are getting very excited for some visitors next weekend!!
