Father's Day!

We've had a great Father's Day!  Brodie's team played in the 8U Father's Day Championship and won!  Brodie was messing around with his teammates before the game and they were trying to see who could throw it the hardest.  Well Brodie thought it was Clay's turn to throw the ball and Carver threw it instead and Brodie didn't see it coming.  The ball hit him right in the nose.  He had quite a bit of blood and swelling, but he wanted to play.  After one inning of catching, the swelling increased quite a bit and it started bleeding agin, so his mother who is the medical provider for the team said he should sit out.  Brodie wasn't very happy because his team barely beat the team they had beat 27-0 yesterday.   But they did win the 8U championship, so it was all good in the end.

The boys had a crazy, busy week!  They had the British soccer camp all day all week and then baseball games every night.  They had lots of fun though.

Camping!

We had a great time camping in South Dakota.  It was way more expensive that we were planning on, but we were in good company and had lots of fun!
We ran into all kinds of wildlife on the roads.  There were Buffalo (otherwise known as bison) all over in Wind Cave National Park.

We saw deer crossing the road a few times also

And there were a few bears (the bears were actually in Bear Country - but still cool)

School's Out!

Yesterday was the last day of school.  I can't believe we have a first grader and third grader in the house now!

It was a wonderful year full of lots of learning, much laughter and friends, and great memories!

April Fool's Day

I was on call earlier in the week, so I didn't put quite as much effort into this year's April Fool's Day, but we still had some fun.

Brodie switched the cereal bags around to trick Daddy and Isaac in the morning.

I made some fake dog poop that I put in the boys bathroom.  They still weren't too fond of it even after then knew it was fake.

We told the boys they had been so good, we decided to get them iPads.

They weren't impressed

We had fun with dinner.  I made menus and the boys didn't know what the food was that was assigned to each letter.  They had to pick 2 letters for an appetizer, 4 for the main meal, and 2 for dessert.  The boys loved it.    

I ended up changing some of the items because I decided to assign a food for every letter. 

They both got ice cream for the appetizer and Isaac got chips with his and Brodie got bread and butter



Brodie got milk, chips, yogurt, and noodles for his main meal.  Isaac got a sandwich, bread and butter,  noodles, and milk.

Both boys had cake for their dessert.  I tried making a fake balloon cake covered in whipped cream, but the boys figured it out pretty quickly since they had helped me frost the real cake earlier in the day.

We had a lot of fun!
