Oh What a Week!

We had a wonderful week with Grandpa and Grandma Buman! The boys had so much fun playing with Grandpa and Grandma. They are going to be so bored now that they are gone. It was so good having family in town. I love my Mom and Dad so much! Thanks for such a wonderful week! (More pictures and stories to come :)

Polar Express

We went on the Polar Express today and had a blast. Brodie just soaked everything in. The kids wore their pajamas and we rode the Polar Express train to the "North Pole." We sang songs, drank hot chocolate, and ate cookies on the train. In the North Pole, we were greeted by a lot of elves. Someone read us the Polar Express story and Brodie got a bell from Santa. It was a wonderful day!

Gingerbread cookies!

We had fun making gingerbread cookies this week. Of course Brodie wanted to eat some of the cookies before we finished making them, but I guess that's part of the fun!
I am also so excited because one of the attending physicians that Abel works with wants to give us her polar express tickets for Saturday! We are also getting very excited for some visitors this weekend! We are counting down the days!

Busy, cold morning.

Shortly after we woke up this morning, the power went out throughout the town. It is a good thing that we had so much planned for the morning. The local catholic church had Christmas activities for the kids (without power :). Both boys had a great time. They both sat on Santa's lap without crying, Brodie made a Christmas card, got his face painted, wrote and mailed a letter to Santa, made a Christmas decoration, and decorated a cookie. Isaac really enjoyed interacting with the Christmas characters walking around.
We then went to Lowe's and Brodie made a wooden caboose with Dad. What a great morning! It makes it even better that the power is back on in the house. The snow continues to trickle in. Maybe soon we will have enough to make a snowman!

Getting ready for Christmas!

We had fun putting up the Christmas tree and decorations this weekend! I really wanted to get a live tree this year, but we were a little worried that Isaac would pull the tree down on himself, so we settled for the old fake tree. Maybe next year we will get a live one. Brodie was so excited to help Daddy put the tree up. It is so fun this year because Brodie is starting to realize what the excitement is all about. Christmas is truly my favorite time of year. No wonder we all get a happy feeling...we are celebrating our Savior's birth!
We also went downtown and rode on a pony-pulled wagon. Isaac got so excited when he saw the horses and was so upset when we left. He didn't mind the cold at all - he just wanted to touch the ponies. He continues to try to talk a lot. He likes to say ball, num num (as in "feed me now") and is starting to say bear. What a fun age! It also amazes me how good Brodie is with Isaac. He loves to make him laugh and gives in to him most of the time. Brodie has really grown up over the last year.

"I'll fix it Mommy"

Brodie was playing with a toy hammers this morning and kept telling me he wanted to fix my witch. I finally remembered that my decorative witch for Halloween had fallen and cracked a few weeks ago. Brodie had been very concerned about it. Apparently when he found the hammer today, he thought he could fix it. Needless to say, I did not let him "fix" it :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Good morning! We are enjoying Thanksgiving morning. We are watching the "Grinch" movie in our pajamas. We are looking forward to a relaxing day today and football, Christmas decorations, and baking later in the weekend!
I am so thankful for my amazing husband, who I love more and more daily, my wonderful sons who make me smile everyday, a supportive extended family who I miss each day, a church that encourages me to include my Savior in every aspect of my life, mine and my loved one's good health, Acorn Alley where my children are not only safe and cared for, but cherished and loved, a job I enjoy, and some special visitors coming soon! Thank-you Lord for all of these blessings and more! You truly are an awesome God!
