It's amazing how much difference a year can make. We had to beg, bribe, & threaten (not really) Isaac to stay in the game and play soccer last year. This year he didn't want to leave the game! He made about 6 goals. When it was time for him to come out and let other teammates play, he didn't want to come out. We saw his coach talking to him and Isaac didn't look very happy. Then, his coach picked him up and carried him over to us. Isaac says, "I don't want to come out." Amazing! I am just happy he likes it this year!
Brodie had a great game also. He wasn't happy that he didn't score as many goals as Isaac, but he was playing with older kids. He did have a great block. Brodie was at about 1/2 court (on an inside field). The other team was heading to their goal and nobody from Brodie's team was between them and the goal. Brodie was on the opposite side of the court as the opposing player. Brodie started running down the court and then, as he was crossing in front of the goal, he somehow threw his body, feet first, in the air (his body was parallel with the ground) and blocked the goal kick. It was just a YMCA game, but there was this loud "whoa" from the crowd. The opposing coach gave Brodie a high five and then came and asked who's kid that was. Brodie was smiling from ear to ear. After the game he said, "I just knew there was no way I was going to let that kid score."
We had a quick, fun trip to Colorado. We got to play outside, swim a little (inside), and stocked up at Costco. We then raced home to try to take a picture of Chimney Rock for a school project for Cassidy (the picture had to be with a paper bear she had colored and it was supposed to be back to Blair today). It was storming most of the way back and we weren't sure if we would get a picture in, but somehow it was sunny for a few minutes and we got our picture.
It was a great weekend!
I wasn't very confident we were going to get a picture at this point |
Got it! |
